Cheap Repo Car Sales myths

People have two common wrong ideas about cheap repo car sales. The first is that Cars for sale for cheap means poor quality cars. A repossessed car must be junk. The second is that repo car auctions are secret and only select people are allowed to attend and bid.

The first of these myths is probably the more widely held. People imagine beat up rust buckets that have been twice round the clock. That is not a true reflection of what is available. In fact, a lot of repo cars are simply ones that the owner bought new and could not keep up the payments on. These cars can be very low mileage and in great condition. Armed with the right information, you can come away from a used car repo sale with some nice wheels and, and a major saving!

Not all of the cars found in repo auctions are ones that have been repossessed at all. The government replaces it's vehicles every so many years. These cars may often be higher on the mileage and may have some wear and tear, but they will have been well maintained and should be sound mechanically.

There are also cars for sale for cheap that have been repossessed by the IRS. This can be good news for the buyer. The IRS will typically spend its time chasing those who owe the most in back taxes, i.e. people who have earned the most money. Which means that you, the repo buyer, have the opportunity to drive away in a millionaires car without paying a premium price.

The second myth is that these auctions are secret and only certain people get to go along and bid. This is simply not true. OK, sometimes it can be hard to locate repo car sales. But that is just because the vehicle sellers are looking to keep their costs down so they do not spend much money on advertising. Anyone is welcome at a Repo car sales are public. You do not need special access or have a police officer as a friend.

Look out for the term, General Admission. If you search on the internet for used cheap cars for sale, you can often find repo sales in your area. Internet advertising can be really cheap and get them the most exposure. The vendors want the cars off their hands, and the best way for them to do it quickly is to have as many people as possible in a position to bid.
